Penang Durian Festival 2016

Jawi Assemblyman YB Soon Lip Chee with the support of the Penang State Tourism committee is organizing a state-level Durian Festival at Jalan Serindit, Sungai Jawi, not far from the Jawi toll exit. The festival opens daily from 11.00am to 8.00pm.

Jawi durian, “Ochee” are among the big names featured at the durian festival, the other durians at the festival includes popular breeds such as the Musang King, Ang Hei, Hor Lor, Teik Kar, Kun Poh, 101 14, 604 and many more. The festival starts from 20 May to 12 June, this will indirectly promote Jawi as another tourist and durian destination. Durian festivals had been successful in attracting tourists from all over Malaysia and overseas.

Durian lovers should not miss this Penang Durian Festival where the King of Fruits is featured as the main item. Savor fresh durians categorized according to grades as well as sumptuous delicacies made from durians. Although it is an acquired taste for the uninitiated, this controversial fruit will win the hearts of those who are brave enough to try.
