Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Incorporated also known as ASE Inc. was founded in 1984 as an Independent Integrated Circuit Manufacturer. Today ASE Inc. is the largest independent semiconductor manufacturer in the world. ASE Malaysia, the first off shore plant of ASE Inc. located on the island of Penang was established in 1991 to better serve the multinational companies located in South East Asia, and has been very successful so far in attracting over 50 customers in Malaysia. In March 1997, ASE Test Limited the world’s largest independent Integrated Circuit Testing House and the first Taiwanese company to be listed on Nasdaq acquired 100% equity interest of ASE Malaysia. This merger led to significant business synergy and new opportunities for both ASE Test and ASE Malaysia. ASE is also a leader in providing “Turnkey” services, which allows us to offer customers one-stop manufacturing by combining packaging, testing, and drop-shipment services to the end-customer.
