Safety & Health Executive (Green Book Holder)
Reporting to the Assistant Corporate Affairs Manager, the successful candidate is tasked to manage and improve all Health and Safety Systems in the factory. The successful candidate would also be responsible for the following tasks:
- To plan daily inspection schedules and to ensure all equipments are in good working order.
- To manage all reports relating Environmental, Safety and Health statistics and their analysis and to propose corrective actions when necessary.
- To liaise with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and the Department of Environment (DOE) on matters concerning:
(a) Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994 and its regulations
(b) Factories and Machinery Act (FMA) 1967 and its regulations
(c) Bomba-Fire Services Act 1975
(d) Environmental Quality Act 1967
- To control environmental hazards and impacts, and to work closely with Heads of Departments by providing them with the appropriate actions and advice on hazards control.
- To develop and manage the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and ensure the emergency evacuation drills are carried out accordingly.
- To lead the ESH Committee and work closely with related Government Bodies on the activities, inspections and audits as required by OSHA 1994.
- To prepare and coordinate trainings relating to Health Awareness, Industrial and Safety Awareness.
The successful candidates must possess the following qualifications and criteria:
- Registered as a qualified Safety and Health officer with NIOSH (i.e. possess the Green Book)
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in any field. However, candidates with qualifications in Environmental, Safety and Health will be an advantage.
- At least 3 years of relevant Environmental, Safety and Health experience in the Manufacturing Field.
- Have sound knowledge in Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) Regulations, specifically Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Factories and Machinery Act (FMA) 1967, Fire Services Act 1975 and the Environmental Quality Act 1967.
- Fluent in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Able to communicate well with all levels of employees.
- Strong leadership skills, positive mindset and experience in writing reports.
- Able to deal with related Government Agencies on all ESH matters.
