Date: 4 July – 31 August
Venue: Straits Quay, Penang

The Straits Quay Retail Marina will be transformed into a vibrant arts and cultural hub in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebration and George Town Heritage Festival.

Various programmes have been lined up from this week until next month, with the Straits Quay floating stage coming alive on Sunday evenings with specially-lined up music performances to entertain the crowd.

Showcasing the multicultural tradition and heritage of Malaysia, Straits Quay will feature a Multi-Cultural Dance on August 31 with various ethnic dances harmoniously choreographed into one performance.

Patrons can also take part in the Art and Culture workshops such as plush camel making on August 25.

On August 22 and 23, the Budaya Celebration by-the-sea event will present Malaysian traditional performances and games under one roof at Straits Quay’s picturesque Promenade. Patrons also get to experience a Waushowcase, batik painting, henna drawing, Batu Seremban game, gasing demonstration, congkak challenge and more.

To add to the merriment, representatives from schools, organizations, societies and associations will take part in a Budaya Parade, the first-of-its-kind cultural parade at Straits Quay.

A ‘Lucky Dip’ redemption will run from now until 31st August where shoppers who spend more than RM150 in a single receipt get to redeem cash vouchers worth more than RM7000.

Other events in Straits Quay include a weekly Zumba Fitness with Zin Mary by-the-sea on every Wednesday, Friday’s Car Boot Sale held first Friday of every month, Weekend Market and Evening Organic Farmers’ Market held third Sunday of every month.
