The Sikh feast marks the harvest festival and the religious Khalsa Janam Divas. It is usually celebrated with singing and dancing in a colourful carnival-like atmosphere. The main objective of this event is to increase awareness of the Sikh culture and the Ways of Life amongst Malaysians and foreign tourist whilst promoting Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage and racial unity.

As with every year, the event shall feature vibrant cultural performances (bhangra, giddha and multi cultural performances), Chapatti cooking demonstration, free Henna art, exhibits of the early Sikhs and history of Sikhs in Malaysia.

The Right Honourable Chief Minister of Penang Tuan Lim Guan Eng has been invited to officiate and grace this event.

The open house will give visitors a rare glimpse of insight into the beliefs, customs and practices that are sacredly practiced by the Sikhs to this day.
