Principal Staff Digital Engineer
Job Descriptions:
- Responsible for the design & development of highly-sophisticated communication products for Motorola Solutions Infrastructure division.
- Lead the digital design architecture for Base Station, Router and Console products. Responsible for the digital circuit topology and chipset selection to achieve performance and cost goals.
- Capture the voice of customer, marketing and system requirements. Derive the technical requirements and design verification test plans.
- Supervise board level hardware and FPGA designs. Review and approve technical analysis and certification results. Ensure the project technical deliverables are meeting requirements and timeline.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the digital team in project execution and technical issue resolutions. Coach the senior and staff engineers.
- Drive roadmap (proof of concepts) and innovation activities. Work with a team of architects across the globe (electrical, mechanical, software) to generate innovative ideas and solutions that meet customer requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering with at least 12 years experience in digital product design and development.
- Strong knowledge in hardware development flow from schematic entry, layout, signal integrity simulation, timing analysis to design verification and validation. Experience in Cadence design flow is a plus.
- Expert in Digital system design with experience in Microprocessor, FPGA, high speed memory (DDR) design and communication protocols such as Ethernet and USB.
- Competent in Embedded System design. Experience in Verilog/VHDL or C programming is a strong plus.
- Experience in Analog circuit design (audio amplifier circuitry) is an added advantage.
- Experience in design for manufacturing and test (DFM and DFT techniques).
- Familiar with Regulatory requirements and standards for USA and European markets. Experience in designing and qualifying hardware for EMC compliance.
