Manufacturing Specialist
JOB PURPOSE: (Why does the job exist?)
- Operate Melt Blown production line in shift from raw material mixing until finished goods packaging with timely delivery of all products in required quality and reasonable cost level.
- Actively maintaining housekeeping and 5S in the workplace to maintain safety and increase productivity.
- Perform preventive/ predictive maintenance and calibration on machines, equipment and tools in a timely manner.
- Perform troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance on the equipment, machines and tools with the aim to reduce downtime period and frequency.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement process to increase production yield, up time and efficiency of process.
- Support daily task that being given by superior from time to time.
- Support top management vision and policies, drive and motivate the team to achieve the organizations goals, objectives and KPIs.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS: (Minimum attributes for the job holder to be effective in this job in terms of education, qualifications/certifications, work experiences, specific job skills, computer literacy, language/communication skills, personal competencies, work environment & physical effort)
- Minimum a Certificate Mechanical or Electrical/ Electronic holder or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 – 3 years of working experience in Manufacturing environment as operator, maintenance technician or electrician.
- Acceptable Communication Skills in English language (oral and written)
- Acceptable in MS Office Applications
- Good attitude towards teamwork, accountability and reliability
LIST OF RESPONSIBILITIES: (Routine and non-routine task that has to be performed in order to achieve the KRA identified. Highlight the result that is expected from each task)
1. Delivery
- Ensure production schedules are executed as planned to meet customer orders.
- Ensure all resources needed for production are prepared and/or arranged for production according to schedule.
- Ensure equipment downtime are rectified in a timely manner during each shift.
- Ensure maintenance program is executed as per schedule during each shift.
- Continually make short, mid and long-term improvement proposals to prevent failed delivery and improve efficiency.
2. Productivity
- Ensure monthly shift production output targets are achieved.
- Ensure material, energy, equipment and human resource available are utilized in the most efficient manner in shift.
- Ensure equipment downtime are below limit set for each shift.
- Focused effort in reducing and eliminating rejects and waste from production activities and equipment downtime during shift.
- Continually make short, mid and long-term improvement proposals to achieve output target and increase efficiency.
3. Safety, Health & Environment
- Ensure the highest commitment in adhering to Safety, Health and Environment policy of the organization.
- To follow organization SHE rules and regulations.
- Emphasis on prioritizing SHE policy as guideline in all decision-making.
- Promote safety awareness among team members in the workplace.
4. Quality
- Ensure finished goods product meet the quality standards during each shift.
- Ensure production process are run following SOP to produce finished goods product that meet quality standards set during each shift.
- Ensure repair and maintenance work is done right the first time. Eliminate repeated downtime from same root cause.
- Actively involve in effort to identify root causes, plan for corrective and improvement actions, execute and review the action items for issues related to product quality.
- Continually make proposals for improvement in production process to achieve quality standards set for finished good products.
5. Cost
- Actively involve in contributing effort and ideas in ensuring monthly direct and manufacturing cost involving Production Department did not exceed budget set.
- Ensure all raw material, energy and human resources available in each shift are utilized in the most efficient and lean manner to achieve direct and manufacturing cost as per or lower than budget set.
- Ensure Production and Engineering consumable parts are used in most efficient manner.
- Focused effort in increasing the product yield by reducing rejects from production activities and quality issues during each shift.
- Actively involved in and support efforts in execution of new improvements to the production area/ equipment/ process in order to achieve a reduction in direct and manufacturing costs.
6. Morale
- Contribute effort, ideas and support to company initiative program in promoting employee engagement in the work place.
- Feedback to superiors or management on corrective and improvement ideas by shift team members.
