Position Objectives:
- Successfully manage the dispatch function at Seating SBL, ensuring the efficient and effective shipping of products to agreed time frames.
- To ensure work activities in dispatch are conducted in a safe manner in accordance with SSBL procedures and health and safety requirements.
- ERP (Odoo) processing will be accurate and timely.
- The standard of packing meets company and customer specifications, minimises the overall dimensions of the consignment when packed and prevents transit damage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate daily with Spex Limited’s International Customer Coordinator, to prepare daily schedules for deliveries.
- Ensure all orders are accounted for in each shipment.
- Complete consignment / shipping documentation, and Odoo processing accurately and in keeping with given operating procedures.
- Safely shelve orders awaiting final shipment on available racking and keep a clear record of this. (Gather process)
- Assist Final Assembly staff as required to construct cartons, package, and label orders ready for dispatch.
- Configure and package outbound customers’ orders in such a manner as to minimize
physical dimensions of the consignment and prevent transit damage to products.
- Ensure all consignments are clearly and accurately labelled.
- Promote and monitor work-place safety and take proactive steps to create a positive safety culture.
- Following company procedures, report / document actual as well as potential health and safety issues.
- Operate all tools and machinery including the forklift in accordance with health and safety requirements.
- Maintain tools and equipment, and report to Warehouse Manager any remedial actions required.
- Keep the dispatch zone clean, tidy, and free of clutter.
- Provide input into the documentation of new Dispatch related procedures, update these as required and notify relevant staff of any changes in procedures.
- Attend and contribute at daily team meeting and other meetings as necessary.
- Support the warehouse team in all associated tasks including loading, unloading, picking, and cycle counting as required.
- Understand and uphold company standards in line with ISO quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma level of education.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a dispatch or warehousing position.
- Forklift operating certification and training.
- Good understanding of written and oral English language.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Competent in ERP and online dispatching systems.

- Accurate and methodical in your approach to tasks – high attention to detail and capable of reading and interpreting procedures.
- Displays initiative – Seeks ways to make improvements and uses mistakes as an opportunity to learn.
- Teachable – able to learn quickly but not afraid to ask questions.
- Physically fit -The role involves being on your feet for long periods, lifting and moving product.
- Flexible – willing to cover other roles within warehouse as required.
- Proven MOJ clearance: this will have to be maintained during employment with Seating SBL.
