    Mechanical Design Engineer (Bayan Lepas, Penang)

    Job Description:
    • Design change kits, jigs, fixtures
    • Program and create burnt in board jig
    • Certified Change Kits Designer
    • Improve design for Assembly and Fabrication for cost effectiveness.
    • Liaise with customers on design specification.

    Job Requirements:
    • Degree or diploma in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electronic / Tools and Die Engineering
    • Proficient in 2D drawings and using 2D software
    • Diploma holders must have minimum 3 years’ experience in related industry
    • Experienced in either AutoCad / Cad Cam/ Cadra / Solidedge / NX / Inventor / I-Cad MX / Cadra / similar software
    • Good problem and communication skills
    • Good organisational skills

    Manufacturing Engineer (Perai, Penang)

    Job description

    Manufacturing Engineer performs the lead role in the implementation of manufacturing processes and techniques – and the implementation of LEAN and use of Six Sigma tools. He/she is the owner of their respective manufacturing processes and standards and enforces implementation by training shop floor personnel, implementing and monitoring metrics, and oversight. He/she is responsible to solve complex manufacturing problems and take an active role in troubleshooting quality and production yield related issues within manufacturing. These activities are performed in line with company strategy, and in conformity to relevant standards.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the implementation of key elements of Lean, such as: standardized work instructions, line balancing, layout and work sequence (routing) optimization, training development matrix, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen/5S workouts, pull processes, TPM (total preventive maintenance), cell design, and quick changeover/batch-size optimization.
    • Implement process improvements to achieve manufacturing excellence in areas such as process yield (e.g. First Pass Yield, Rolled Throughput Yield), cycle time reduction and productivity.
    • Responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI), such as process development, tool validation, work instruction preparation, training development etc.
    • Provide shop floor feedback on product design and manufacturability issues to Engineering and DFMs (e.g. through Engineering Change Requests – ECRs).
    • Review and sign-off on Engineering Change Orders (ECO) that impact Inventory – including product life cycle issues, obsolescence, etc.
    • Implement Engineering Change Orders and coordinate closely with other functional teams on manufacturing and production related matters.
    • Creates, implements, and monitors key performance indicators and metrics on manufacturing process capability and product quality.
    • Monitoring and reducing process cost.
    • Responsible to assist with investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for manufacturing quality issues.

     

    Education, skills and experience

    • Bachelors in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of higher degree and experience
    • Min 2 years of experience with a listed technical degree and strong interest in manufacturing. Otherwise, a significant background or technical assignment in a manufacturing environment is required – including machine shop, industrial assembly plant, or other engineered products manufacturing environment
    • Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma techniques and metrics
    • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing
    • Knowledge of equipment and tools
    • Knowledge of process and product capability

    • Contractual bonus (1 month base salary) paid in Dec
    • Individual performance bonus (max 1.5 months of base salary) paid in Feb, however its based on overall performance
